Five new en-route bus charging stations were installed along CTA’s #66 Chicago Avenue bus route to support CTA’s fleet of electric buses, one of the largest in the country. The new 500kW chargers at each site allow charging via pantographs on the buses through contacting the overhead mast. Project scope also included new masonry power distribution facilities at the Chicago/Austin and Navy Pier bus turnarounds to house the new electrical equipment.
