CDOT Irving Park Bridge

A project to completely rebuild and improve the 100-year-old Irving Park Bridge over the Chicago River at Irving Park Road is currently The 100-year-old Irving Park Bridge over the Chicago River was completely rebuilt to fit the current dimensions of Irving Park Road, featuring consistent vehicle lane widths and a lower grade to improve sight distance. Additional improvements included wider sidewalks, protective crash rails between the roadway and sidewalks, and ornamental lighting. A multi-use trail was constructed under the bridge to link 3 parks along the river.
