The Chicago Smart Lighting Project involved the replacement of approximately 270,000 outdated high-pressure sodium lamps with modern, energy-efficient LED lights along with targeted repairs to existing poles and wires in order to improve public safety and general quality of life for multiple neighborhoods. The project also includes the installation of a wireless lighting management system that provides real-time outage updates to the city.
