IDOT District One Kennedy Expressway (I-90) I-94 to Hubbard Street

SQN provided construction engineering and inspection services for the rehabilitation of numerous structures along the Kennedy Expressway (I-90). Originally opened in 1960, the corridor carries more than 275,000 vehicles daily and serves as a critical connection between downtown Chicago and O’Hare International Airport. As part of IDOT’s multi-year rehabilitation program, the project included bridge deck, structural, drainage, pavement, ITS, lighting, and overhead sign improvements designed to extend the life of the infrastructure while maintaining traffic throughout construction. SQN was responsible for construction oversight, on-site inspection, maintenance of traffic monitoring, contract compliance verification, and inspection reporting.
