As part of a multi-year project to modernize the entire Union Pacific North Line, 11 aging bridges between Balmoral Avenue and Addison Street were reconstructed including the replacement of existing stone abutments and constructing new steel bridge superstructures. The project also included track work, constructing retaining walls between the bridges, and replacement of wood ties with concrete ties.
