The West Lake Corridor Project is an approximately 8-mile southern extension that adds 4 stations to the existing NICTD South Shore Line (SSL) between Dyer and Hammond, Indiana. Trains on this new extension will connect with SSL and then the Metra Electric District all the way to Millennium Station in downtown Chicago, thereby expanding NICTD’s service coverage and connecting northwest Indiana with Chicago and Cook County, Illinois.
